My Therapeutic Approach:
In my therapy practice I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, depending on what I see as best suited for each client’s individual needs. I understand that therapy is not “one size fits all.” Sometimes my clients need direction, while others may be seeking support. Most often, clients are looking for a little of both in their therapy sessions, where I can warmly provide the type of thoughtful guidance that is difficult to discover elsewhere. Most often, I integrate what I see as the best parts of each therapy approach to deliver a powerful, comprehensive service.
Often I find that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is highly effective for a wide range of mental health issues and many clients enjoy learning the concepts in this therapy approach. It is a very practical therapy that can dramatically improve one’s thinking style and consequently have positive effects on mood and behavior.
I also believe in and utilize Solution Focused Therapy, as many people intuitively know what is best for them and simply need a guide to help elicit the answers they’re looking for.
Sometimes I take a more Psychodynamic Therapy approach to help clients explore the long-standing patterns in their lives that originated in childhood.
In addition to using cognitive and emotional approaches, I am very comfortable exploring spiritual solutions with clients who strive to seek greater enlightenment.
Current Therapy Groups:
“Time to Take Care of Me”
This is a weekly therapy group for women experiencing “mommy burn out.” The group will begin on August 4, 2017. The group will meet weekly on Friday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM in my Agoura Hills office.
